Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes!

Apologies for the long awaited update!
On the 22nd of June, our family had a joint birthday party for my cousin Katie and my Mum. Becca and I made cupcakes, baked in ice cream cones and decorated to look like ice creams, for Katie.

We started by adding our batter into the ice cream cones. The muffin tray helped to keep the cones in place, and they cooked perfectly.

We shaved off excess sponge cake, and tried to get the tops as smooth as possible.

Next came the decorating! The icing was just buttercream; we made three different flavours. Above, is the mint, sprinkled with chocolate pieces and a Cadbury Flake wedged into the icing.

Above; plain buttercream, again with a Cadbury Flake wedged into the icing.

And lastly, buttercream streaked with strawberry sauce, sprinkled with well, sprinkles, and again with the Cadbury flake.

Now check out our setup!

Our guests (and more importantly, the birthday girl!) loved what we made, and we couldn't have been happier with the result!
